Start location:
Race Info:
When the race begins I will hand out manifests, which will include the locations of the checkpoints as well as a list of activities you can do during the race to get bonus points!
When you get your manifest, your team will have 5 minutes to strategize before I release all the teams. During that time your team will devise the best route to get to as many checkpoints as you want to do before the end of the race at 2:30PM. By which point you should have finished back at Charm City Meadworks.
Each checkpoint you visit will earn your team 3 points. There will also be volunteers stationed at each checkpoint that have activities for one or more of your team to do that can earn you even more points depending on the activity. There will also be activities you can do during the race that will earn you bonus points!
At the end of the race I will tally up all the team's points from checkpoints and bonus points, then announce the winners of each category (Most Points 1st, 2nd, 3rd, WTF (Woman, Trans, Femme), Best Spring Outfits, and DFL (Dead F***ing Last)!
If you pre-ordered a t-shirt: There will be a table set up at Charm City Meadworks with a volunteer that will give you your t-shirt! Then you are free to move onto the bleach-dying station to decorate your shirt if you wish!
The rest of the day is there for you to have fun until Meadworks closes at 5:00pm.
An Important Note:
You do not have to go to all the checkpoints. You can just go to one or even none and just show up to the after party! This race is just for fun, but if you do want to compete please realize this is a labor of love and all the people stationed at the checkpoints are volunteering their time and Saturday nights to help you have fun, so please be polite and courteous to them!
Disclaimer:
Because of the nature of this race where each team makes their own route, it is an unsupported ride. Which means you will need to fix any technical issues you have during the race (ie. flats, chain derailments) on your own. So please coordinate with your team and bring a couple spare tubes, some tire levers, and whatever else you may need for roadside repairs. I will be on call for any serious issues and my phone number is 315-985-1071 if you need to get in touch. But as I will be occupied setting things up at Meadworks during the race I kindly ask that you only get in touch with serious issues as I may not be able to help you quickly during the ride.
